Abhishek pointed this interesting twist to the competition between CNN-IBN and NDTV. While CNN-IBN was perhaps the first Indian news media group to promote the concept of blogs on their websites, NDTV is trying to catch-up with a section called columns.

Interestingly, these columns give you the feeling of blogs though there is no option to post the comment to a particular post. You can of course send feedback using a contact form, which is rather stupid.

Even more interesting is the fact that NDTV’s website now seems to be replicating the design elements of CNN-IBN site. Or maybe that is just because I have weak eyesight. I think it is time that these competing news media groups think of something more innovative than rather copy paste each other’s concepts.

Shekhar Gupta’s Walk the Talk seems to be one of the most popular formats being copied around.
