A Sip Of Broadband……..
Published by geetikadev June 8th, 2007 in MiscellaneousShakespeare has said “ Life’s a stage and every person is an actor…..comes plays a part and goes”……so if life’s a play lets add some refreshing coffee to it.
Unnhhuuu…!!!!!!!! Rather lets just have few sip of a coffee…..N here I have a special flavor for you……A SIP OF BROADBAND.
Actually the entire thing started with my sister’s demand that she needed a net connection…which I think to be a very guanine one….its one among the loyal guides.
So everyone agreed to it, actually convincing was not a problem u know, the greater problem was to chose which one is to be taken………….
And I tell you it was one of the most difficult task that I’ve done in my life…..coz you know these advertisements…..trying to prove each one to be the best…..!!!! but finally I did it……I decided lets give a shot to BSNL BROADBAND which offered us a monthly rental of Rs 250 and unlimited download…… sounds quite profitable…..
Ops its 7:45…..gona go for a dinner party….. I’ll continue when I’ll bi back….hope u don mind…!!!!!!!!
Hey am back….its 10:19 now. Ok so what were we talking about……..!!!!!??????!!! OH ya……So then there was another surprise…the entire work got done very soon….we submitted the required documents and within almost four days browsing became more easy for us…..on the final day two of the agents came to us….they spoke all about their company….it was something like this…..
“ Mam this is one of India’s leading broadband connection, we guarantee you surfing with no difficulty……and of course our LOYALTY and EFFECIENCY…….. ( rather it is ;-) ) and we also give you FREE DOWNLOAD SCHEME…..for a monthly rental of just Rs 250 and no additional charges.” I think that was their word of mouth and what else a customer needs……..
Till now the coffee tasted really good….touchwood…. and we started experiencing the elegance of NET. Ah what a time we had….lovely…..say its chatting with friends or its reading a critical article of a murder case, everything seemed to be so easy and the best part was you don’t need to worry about the payment……nor do you have to look over the watch constantly…..NO TIME UP….!!!!
Time flies and within no time we completed one entire month of the fabulous connection…very eagerly we awaited the BILL….But as I have already told you that BSNL claims itself to be a very EFFICIENT and LOYAL brand….so it decided to prove it….and so the bill never came….
The next thing we opted for was to contact our broadband officials….and then the fragrance of the coffee could be reeked…..day one started with the phone calls, followed
by some futile visits…..and finally on an exceptional a gentleman approached us with a consolation…..what he said to us was something like this…. “ Mam you don’t need to worry at all, there are some system problem and hence the entire operation has been delayed….we’ll recharge your account now and will take the payment later.”
Papa wasn’t very happy with idea coz he wanted to clear the payment, but what could we do if they wanted it a LITTLE LATER……and we dn’t knew that a little later is somewhere around four months…coz they are efficient and loyal….
Time flies u know….but the bill never came…..again the same principles…..this time they had something new to say…. “ Mam we’ll send you a combined bill of the last month and this month together, and as you already have paid the advance amount don’t worry about the connection at all…..” it seemed quite convincing to us and we agreed to it…..
And guess what ………… “ We finally got the bill, but after four months….with the blast, the bill amount was Rs 18000….
And now you can imagine what a topsy-turvey situation this must have been…..all our questions were unanswered….we were bound to pay that and we did pay also….but without a reason……
So then we actually realized that the sip of our reliable and loyal BSNL broadband was too expensive…… don’t you think so…………??????????
bsnl does not promise unlimited downloads in their 250 pack
I can truly identify with the situation as I’ve experienced the similar one. I was using Airtel broadband and first three months were great. No problems and no worries at all………..or as you said.. coffee tasted just great….but then fourth month they forgot to send the bill I guess. We tried calling them so many times but no response. Their call centre guys were great… they were of no use. They used to say “Mam we are extremely sorry but we don’t cater issues related to billings (Great!!!!!!).” we finally complained regarding this at their head office. Guess what………….. even then nobody came to collect the bill. After that…. We moved to Mumbai from Pune. Our landlord wanted to continue with the connection (it was booked on his name). finally he convinced the call centre guys that the issue is not billing related and he wants to discontinue with the service. Finally somebody came and he told them strictly that either you clear earlier bills or discontinue the service. After this they still took two more months to finally clear the bill.
Of course bill amount was huge and they even added fine…. and when we told them that its not our fault and rather its theirs … they just made a face and said they can’t do anything about it. we paid cos we didn’t wanted to stretch the issue anyfurther or rather we were by then so irritated that we just wanted the issue to get over.
the point is that thay have same answer for everything “Mam its not in our hands, even we are folloing orders or Mam its company Policy..blah blah blah”..
the whole thing is that, can they actually afford such kind of attitude in service industry????????????
and yes even though i prefer bitter coffee….but this one..i surely did’t enjoyed.
even if they don’t promise unlimited downloads in 250 pack…. they should atleast send bills regularly…
broadband bill is generally clubbed with land-line & usually we follow the bi-monthly billing cycle for basic phone category.
details of broadband tariff-plan is available at http://www.bsnl.co.in
basically, 250/- is starter plan given to home user and on e truth is that surfing any web-page is counted as download, cos data is travelling from site server to client PC through service provider i.e; Internet/ Broadband company.
