I have nothing personal against CNN-IBN.

However, they seem to churn out such inane write ups which is an insult to the average readers’ intelligence. It comes in with loads of grammatical bloopers that one point of time, I wonder whether the “English speaking school” was worth it or not. I just happen to scourge around for information on various websites and CNN-IBN by large remains a model of how not to write!

Well, for the knowledgeable among us, the tech section sucks to the core. There is no other word to describe it. I reproduce a part of the write up; can’t do it whole because of copyright restrictions. I am taking a screenshot to backup my claims before it is removed or any alterations made.

The original article on IBN-Live updated on Fool’s day!

The casing is unusually sleek and so one can proudly place it next to your bosses Sony laptop

Notice lack of apostrophes.

This one makes a bad case scenario for running around in circles:

The display is good and one can use a VCD while travelling but don’t even go near a 3D game on this one and it comes with a CD drive and not a CD writer. It doesn’t get too hot under the hood because of the via-processor

Well, another grammatical error:

We have advanced from the Stone Age to the information (no Capitals!)age but people can’t seem to figure out… The battery stands out for only one and half hours rather than two hours, which is advertised and that is not too appealing for a mobile user, but okay for a machine at this price level.
So despite some of its shortcomings, the ACI -Ethos E is one of the best laptop one can buy in this price-to-package ratio. For a student or a professional on the move, or home user, this is the laptop to buy though I would urge you to update it to 512 MB RAM, which costs only Rs 2,300 more.

What is the whole point of the exercise? First it trashes the product, then recommends it for students/ professionals on the move! This is not saying much for the recommendations at all.

One word of advice. Before CNN guys become a butt of jokes all over the world, they ought to hire some better brains to write in articles for them.

This is bad enough as it gets.

I when rajdeep said IBN is a journalist driven website, he didn’t mean it’s a “genuine journalist” driven website :D

Well, it seems to be! But we have the original screenshot! Safely stored online and for anyone to compare.

Whoever did it, hasn’t bothered to correct the same mistakes as before. The grammatical errors remain.

Are they taking us too seriously now?

They still need to work REALLY hard, in case they wish to make any difference. I am glad, my comments didn’t go up with the swarm of brain dead idiots who seem to have so much to say.
