If Rajdeep Sardesai could leave NDTV to start his own CNN iBN news channel, we have yet another former NDTV journalist Arnab Goswami involved in the launch of yet another English news channel. The channel would be known as Times Now and it is being backed by the Times of India Group.

The channel is already available on the mobile platform through Reliance WebWorld and would soon be available on your, mine and everyone else’s cable service. This makes me think on how many more channels can our television sets manage. As of now, my cable guy shows close to 65 channels out of which just around five are worth watching. At least 15 would be news and information channels.

Times Now would have the added advantage of their collaboration with Reuters, which is a world-renowned name when it comes to newsgathering and syndication. Let us hope we do not have yet another CNN iBN in the making, which has been a total disappointment to me. And let us hope it does not turn out to be another Zoom, which has little content worth watching for regular people with brains in their heads.

    Kumar,
Wow, you are serious aren’t you?? Heard they are starting a new show call “kickS. The show according to the director is packed with glamour girls, stunt women and a few comedians. So there you go, you have both your favorite initials, K and S. but, make sure you don’t try it yourself especially at home :) if others wants to..Well you can’t stop them can you? ;)

    Cheers!
    Nina
