I happened to see Times Now and finally could compare it head on to CNN-IBN and NDTV. The reason why this channel deserves a post here is because it has become a part and parcel of the new age media.

Arnab Goswami was with NDTV before this assignment. It was clear that he had been lured by the lolly of “Editor in Chief”; which is bad enough for a description. Over the past few years, I had grown to admire Arnab for his incisive interviews and his insights in the issues. However, I feel that he is loosing his sheen and rotting away his brains in an organisational set up which doesn’t do any credit to his abilities.

I was treated with the “top story” of Smriti Irani; the wannabe politician from Delhi. The fact that Ms Irani made her name and fame by being a bahu hasn’t diminshed her stature for claiming a pie in the sky. She was BJP’s trump card during the past general elections when BJP was in a suicidal mode for “Shining India”. The story related to her getting “death threats” and it was a “soap opera” in “real life” according to the grinning staffer.

Arnab was clearly at sea.

Then came the all important nuclear deal with US and the reaction to the same from different news channels. Interestingly, Times had G.K. Parthasarathy who is ex High Commisioner to Pakistan. I believe, he had a stint in US too. I have been following up his write ups in newspapers and sound bytes on NDTV. Yet, the way the reaction from Mr.Parthasarathy was handled, it seemed that the interviewer was gossiping away in a kitty party. She was in a tearing hurry to move on to the next segment- the ongoing fashion week in New Delhi. Mr Parthasarathy was cut off in middle before he could assert his point and it must have been frustrating for him to be interviewed in such a manner.

It doesn’t augur too well for the nation. We have such ham handed idiots ruining matters of national importance, that one wonders as to where their interests lie! It is indeed depressing to see the way these people handle news.

By the way, most of the news channels could not even get to the depth of the nuclear deal and what it means for India. Aaj Tak, I believe was happily showing off the clips of the “wardrobe malfunction” in Mumbai.

I won’t say much about Times Now or their lawyers would be after this blog to shut it down. We live in depressing world and this is clear reflection in Times. I have a reason to believe that they have the most active legal department in the whole country.

We miss Mediaahh which exposed the dirty tricks department in the Indian media.

Abhisek DOES Liven up the BLOG, with his CRITIC’s Finger, on this News-Blog.
What I was wondering was, can one get hold of a CORY of the Video-Clip of the In-famous “Wadrobe Malfunction”,,,in Mumbai? Video on REQUEST….!

    Lol. Thanks.

Just angst filled posts. Frankly speaking, news Channels need to turn into soft porn channels. They just need an excuse to make it happen. Wardrobe malfunction doesn’t make a difference to those who made it happen. It matters to everyone else.

interestingly, I did read a lot of comments from the so called “intellectual” class in HT/ Times et al. Needless to say, they need not even be berated here.
