This is the post “inspired” by War for News blog. For those who are not aware of the same, this is a group blog about the three news channels- CNN-IBN, Times and NDTV. I really wish we could have a write up for the Hindi news channels too.
Anyway, the post refers to the latest entry in their blog which wouldn’t flatter Rajeep Sardesai. It asks him about his“F***ing spirit” gone for good!
The author writes:
Rajdeep Sardesai is one of those idealistic but barbarically hypocritical journalists who lives building castles in the air and then trampling through them
Well, I am loath to agree with him.
I do read his blog- the so called “weekend ruminations” which is self obessed sob story every weekend on IBN Live. We obviously had high expectations of Mr. Rajeep when he left NDTV. For once, I thought that he would stop shouting in the microphone, care for our sensibilites, know how not to hyperventilate and perhaps make sense. Yet, despite the fact that you invite comments, mine was blocked and not allowed to appear on the website. That’s a censorship to the extreme; there was nothing personal and in fact, I thought that I could add to the discussion at hand. I was the first one to comment on the story didn’t make it good enough. It wasn’t allowed to appear at all. Boo Boo. Some overzealous attempt at not allowing different voices to be heard? Or there seems to be some internal memo that none from Techwhack channel should be allowed to comment? Just wondering.
The 10 p.m. show every weekday retains the same format as was in NDTV and clearly, Mr Rajdeep has run out of ideas. We could obviously do with less histronics, Mr Rajdeep.
We welcome diverse opinions on our blogs and unless it is personally attacking, we don’t “edit” or delete comments. This is the true “democracy”, the personal expression of freedom which I value the most.
Mr Rajdeep, you are most welcome to refute the claims we make here. In the interests of fair play and as consumers, it’s our moral right to know as to why I was blocked. I don’t give a damn anyway, but well the way you seem to have made Gandhi (the original dhoti clad one) as the rallying point for your advertisment punch line, the reason I mentioned about “moral right”. Rest assured that CNN-IBN has gone horribly wrong like a deformed foetus.
Further, I had written a mail to their distribution team that I wasn’t getting in the reception via my cable operator. I followed it up with another mail to their correspondent; yet there was no reply. Hmm. At the hindsight, I believe that I am not missing anything at all.
The media rules and there are some uncrowned “kings”. We are just trying to point out that Emperor has no clothes. Somewhat reluctantly.
