Hat Tip: Rutsum

Or, how to throw big bucks down the drain by senseless advertising.

Tip # 1: Scheme a no-brainer plot in which a boyfriend apes an alien straight out of Youngisthan and conveniently decieves the supposed “scientist” older brother.

Tip # 2: Evoke much laughter out of this particular ad and have it thrashed in print & media alike.

Tip # 3: Make a sequel to the original ad that “justifies” the Youngisthan point of view.

Tip # 4: Pretty much look silly by now, robotic voice or not.

I disliked the second Youngisthan clarifying ad simply because you cannot justify one stupid ad by another. Thank god, Shah Rukh Khan had the sense to skip the latest ad even if the two new starlets didnt.

I am pretty sure that Preity Zinta is a rather stupid actress (I fail to recollect the last time she featured in a movie). But the latest BSNL Landline connection television advertising proves that fact.

I failed to find a copy of the ad on YouTube though I am sure it is going to become an internet hit as soon as someone uploads a copy.

The ad has her pretending to be a loyal daughter who is in discussion with a family for her marriage.

She asks the dude of his house number.

No, not the address but a landline number.

The dude says he does not have a landline connection at home.

Zinta is disappointed and said it is sad not to have a BSNL Landline connection at one’s place.

Umm ok. What if the dude lives in Delhi or Mumbai? What if he is rather satisfied with an Airtel Landline connection?

Anyways, I am hoping Ness Wadia gets a BSNL Landline connection at his place or she would be so totally disappointed.

Reports say that Mint (Collaboration between Hindustan Times and Wall Street Journal) Newspaper is scheduled to launch its own business news channel.

As if we needed any more!

Why Akshay Kumar prefers Thums Up so much may be left open to the audience to find out. When I saw his latest ad on TV, the one in which he goes carting behind a pick up truck to retrieve his much loved cola and ends up in an accident along with the female stranger with her arm in a cast - I was very amused to read the warning label at the bottom of the screen: The stunts are performed by experts… blah blah… children are not advised to try this. Children!?! Oh come on. Since when do children drive cars recklessly or for that matter - since when do they learn how to drive???
